Why this terrible yoke was imposed on Israel and Judah
This terrible yoke was imposed on Israel and Judah on account of their unfaithfulness and idolatrous practices, which the Lord abhors.
Jeremiah 16:18-20 "And first I will repay double for their iniquity and their sin, because they have defiled My land; they have filled My inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable idols... The Gentiles shall come to You From the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our fathers have inherited lies, Worthlessness and unprofitable things. Can man make gods for himself? Such are not gods!”
The Bible reveals that the house of Judah in particular turned to worshiping Egyptian gods and Edomite gods, offering sacrifices and incense to these entities.
Jeremiah 44:8 "Why are you provoking Me to anger by the work of your hands by burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt, where you have gone to reside, As a result, you will be cut off and will become an object of cursing and reproach among all the nations of the earth.?
Jeremiah 44:26 “Hear the word of the LORD, all those of Judah who are in the land of Egypt!... Nevertheless, hear the word of the LORD, all you people of Judah living in Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by My great name, says the LORD, that never again will any man of Judah living in the land of Egypt invoke My name or say, ‘As surely as the Lord GOD lives.’"
The abominations of Amaziah and Manasseh
King Amaziah: He was the ninth king of Judah after the assassination of his father Joash. He introduced to the House of Judah the worship of the Edomite gods, originally worshipped by the children of Seir the Horite.
2 Chronicles 25.14 "Now it was so, after Amaziah came from the slaughter of the Edomites, that he brought the gods of the people of Seir, set them up to be his gods, and bowed down before them and burned incense to them."
At the start of his reign, Amaziah showed his intention to obey the Lord. However, he soon went astray, submitting himself to the service of unbelievers to accomplish God's purposes. In His grace, the Lord spoke to him in an attempt to bring him back to his original faith, but Amaziah threatened the prophet sent to him in the same way his own father had threatened and then executed the prophet Zechariah. Amaziah was well aware that it was wrong to worship other gods, but he no longer feared the Lord and leaned on his own wisdom. The House of Judah paid a terrible price for this deviation.
King Manasseh: son of King Hezekiah and his mother Hephzibah, began his reign at the age of 12. He reigned for 55 years, the longest of any Hebrew king. He is portrayed as a wicked king who led the people into idolatrous practices, including passing his sons “through the fire” and shedding the blood of the innocent. According to the book of 2 Kings, Manasseh's crimes proved so heinous that they sealed the exilic fate of The House of Judah.
2 Chronicles 33:1-9 "Manasseh ..fdid evil in the sight of the LORD by following the abominations of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. For he rebuilt the high places that his father Hezekiah had torn down, and he raised up altars for the Baals and made Asherah poles. And he worshiped and served all the host of heaven.. Manasseh also built altars in the house of the LORD... He sacrificed his sons in the firea in the Valley of Ben-hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did great evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger. Manasseh even took the carved image he had made and set it up in the house of God... So Manasseh led the people of Judah and Jerusalem astray, so that they did greater evil than the nations that the LORD had destroyed before the Israelites."
Ancestral legacy of the True Jews
True Jews are naturally attached to the spirit world, but they are generally perceived as animists because of their belief that a spirit animates living beings, objects, and natural elements. Although their beliefs are in line with the Scriptures and the very reality of the world we live in, some of their rites, which The Lord abhors, trace back to their period of captivity in Egypt and are deeply rooted in their traditions and customs:
📌 Building altars and shrines to worship unclean spirits.
📌 Offering burnt offerings and sacrifices by fire to demons.
📌 Divination, witchcraft. enchantment, and consulting mediums and genies.
📌Taking pleasure in entertaining demons, erecting carved images and prostrating themselves before the idol they have made with their own hands.
📌 They are recognizable by the fact that within their nations some people insert sticks up their noses, make incisions on their faces or bodies and other similar things.
Ezekiel 8:17 "“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they are practicing here, that they must also fill the land with violence and continually provoke Me to anger? Look, they are even putting the branch to their nose!"
