Interesting facts about the Canaanites

► A team of researchers from the Hebrew University led by Professor Liran Carmel (an expert in computational biology from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and Professor Binyamin Yakir (a statistician from the Department of Statistics and Data Science), with the help of a research grant from the National Science Foundation, sought to decipher the genetics of the Canaanites. Through DNA analysis, it was discovered that the Canaanites were a mixture of populations that had migrated to the southern Levant, mainly from the Caucasus region, with ancient local populations that had stayed behind, a process that lasted at least 1,000 years.
► It has been shown that the Canaanites had become polytheists enslaved to idolatry, and whose principal gods were the Ba'als, Astarte, Molech, Dagon, etc., to whom they erected sacrificial altars practicing Canaanite magic, snake worship and child sacrifice. The Canaanite fertility ritual was characterized by the presence of male and female prostitutes in temples and sanctuaries. Due to their moral depravity or slavery to idolatry, ELOHIM subjected them to destruction through the numerous wars they waged against the sons of Jacob.
Numbers 21:3 "And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah."
Deuteronomy 9:5 "It is not because of your righteousness or uprightness of heart that you are going in to possess their land, but it is because of their wickedness that the LORD your God is driving out these nations before you, to keep the promise He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
Exodus 23:28 "I will send the hornet before you to drive the Hivites and Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.."
► Jezebel was a Canaanite princess, daughter of the priest-king Ethbaal, ruler of the Phoenician (present-day Lebanon) coastal cities of Tyre and Sidon (Ṣaydā or Arabia). Raised in Sidon, she married Ahab of Israel for diplomatic reasons. She introduced the Canaanite pagan religion to the Israelites, bringing in foreign gods and goddesses. She is associated with prostitution, witchcraft, mass killings, persecution of God's prophets, cruelty, lavish ceremonies and opulence, expensive jewelry, and makeup.
