The Number 7
Biblical Meaning of the Number 7
In the Bible, the number 7 is considered one of the most powerful numbers that represents totality, divine perfection or something completed.
The 7 refers to the creation of the world which YAHWEH accomplished in 6 days and rested on the 7th day for all was completely finished; thus creating the basis for the 7 day week we use to this day.
In mathematics, 7 is a prime number which means it can only be divided by itself and by the number 1.
Genesis 2:2 "And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work."
